About TPFS
After 2O plus years of business, TPFS still stands out in the Fantasy Sports community as the premier site for hard-core fantasy gamers. When the current owner, Mike Myers, took the reigns of TPFS, his primary goal was to create an environment where the highest-caliber owners could gather to put their skills to the true test. In other words, TPFS was to be an enclave for the most passionate and knowledgeable owners.
Today that goal has been realized. When an owner takes home a TPFS Championship, he or she knows that it was won by competing against only the best.
While other sites continue to offer a gaming atmosphere that can only be described as casual, TPFS has focused on finding owners looking for a truly competitive environment where they can maximize their own fantasy skills. At TPFS owners are “in it to win it” and stay engaged with their teams throughout the season. Even after being eliminated from Championship contention, owners still respect the integrity of the league and actively participate.
While TPFS is not in the business of speaking ill of other fantasy sites, there are a few items that we feel obligated to make you aware of:
• Teams for sale. At some fantasy sites, teams that have been abandoned by their owner simply drift along without management. These teams degrade the competitive nature of the league and gradually lose value. TPFS has hired a person whose only job is to run orphaned teams, not for material gain but simply to enhance the team’s value and speed up the sale process for the good of the league and the owners.
• The payout shell game. Companies advertise 70-80% payouts, but in reality it doesn’t work that way. A league may have 14 teams, but four or five are often house-run and never advertised for sale. Through a series of trades during the year between house-owned teams, the "house" ensures their some or all of their teams always finish in the money. The 70-80% payout rates never really happen.
• Below the belt. A sure sign of a company that doesn't have your best interests at heart is that they take direct shots at the competition. We at TPFS think our fantasy games are the best in business, but we also believe that fantasy sports is big enough for all and that there’s no need to personalize things in a negative fashion.
• Customer service. The cornerstone of every fantasy retail enterprise is the customers. This fact should be acknowledged with top-notch customer service (response times to emails, handling of trades, providing advice and counsel for any owner that requests it). Many times fantasy game companies are run as hobbies by individuals who don’t have enough time to devote to their customers. At TPFS this is the only thing we do. It’s our job, and it’s our pride and joy.
